Week 4: Roadmap and Transition to Governance

The fourth week is about moving from audit to action. Auditors present a 90-day roadmap that aligns remediation tasks with available resources. This roadmap includes clear owners for each task, defined deadlines, and guidance on monitoring. While the audit itself ends, the roadmap ensures continuity. For many organizations, this is the first credible governance artifact they can show regulators, investors, or clients. It signals seriousness and readiness to mature governance processes over time.

Four weeks is long enough to identify and document essential controls, but short enough to avoid bureaucratic delay. It balances thoroughness with momentum.
